Flatting clear

What can I do to reduce the gloss on a clear coat? I have some PPG DX10 FLT urethane flatting agent. Would this be compatible with the Universal or Production Clears? I want to coat a bare metal part (driveshaft) and keep the bare metal look without gloss.

Thanks
Dave

I've done this in my Corvette restoration days with PPG DX-685 urethane flattener. If were me (and this is where we normally get into trouble ), I would do a spray-out on bare metal to determine how much flatting agent to use anyway. This will let you test for any undesirable reaction, and for adhesion. I predict that the DX10 will work just fine with SPI clears. That stuff is kinda like talcum powder in suspension and is pretty much inert in a urethane environment. Hopefully, someone else here has more direct experience, but I'd sure try it.
