Found another one!

The wife and I were kayaking one day this summer and on the bike ride back to the car she spotted this in someone's yard.

We stopped in and gave them our number if they decided to sell and a day later we got a call.

It ended up being another S code 4 speed car. So here we go again!

Check out the black doily stripes they must have painted on in the 70's. I wish I could have saved them!

The car was originally lime gold so we decided that's what it will be. This thing was road hard and put away wet. The clutch Zbar was an inch thick with reinforcement welded all over it. Found the build sheet too. A big block MANUAL steer car?

Got to work repairing the front aprons.

Then I tore into the rear,replacing the frame rails,drops,tail panel and outer wheelhouses and a couple patches on the inners.

Then I fit the quarters on. I didn't put in full quarters but used partials and butt welded them on. I wanted to keep as much original as I could.

Then I replaced the floor and floor supports. Also repaired a couple spots on the main subframe.

More ..... New firewall and torque boxes also

Then made some subframe connectors. I fit them through the floor supports for a little more support. Then put in the new floor

I rolled it outside and blasted it.Then washed it and let it dry.

Then I got some SPI red oxide on it.

I spent a fair amount of time dollying the quarters so they only took a thin skin coat of mud.

My goodness you have been a busy man. Very nice work, I'm partial to Mustangs and love seeing them saved, especially when they're done right. I'm leaning towards doing a one piece floor pan for one of my 70 Sportsroof cars. What was your opinion on the one piece pan ?

I am building it for a daily driver in the summer for the wife.(she did find it) It is getting a 390 and a different paint job. LOL by different I mean....well you'll see

The one piece pan is the only way to go.

I glued in the sound/heat deadener on the roof.

I then welded the gaps on the doors and fenders.
