I am nearly finished sanding down my 65 mustang and i just wanted to make down a checklist of things I have and plan to buy for my first coat of epoxy. If yall dont mind going over it and see if I'm missing anything or anything to recommend . I get very stressed when it comes to painting.
What I already have :
80 gal 15.8cfm compressor
a decent paint booth setup
3/8 hose
water separator
hf desiccant and dryer (might upgrade to something more industrial)
hobby air fresh air system
gloves
paint suit
140 psi at the wall and a gun regulator

Things I am going to buy
spi epoxy
spi w&g (What is the deference between water and solvent based?)
Masking paper and plastic / tape
high flow fittings
more air line ( do I need to upgrade to 1/2 hose or is 3/8 sufficient ?)
iwatta lph 400 1.4 with silver cap
cleaning cloths
tac rags
mixing cups and strainers

my steps are going to be
go over the whole car with 80 grit on a da and hand sand some of the harder places
w&g/ wipe
mask
w&g/ wipe until clean and let it sit for x min
tac
mix paint and let induct
setup and adjust gun
and spray

Sounds like a good plan..epoxy is very forgiving if not sprayed just perfect..sands great after a few days. I prefer solvent w& g remover..epoxy will fisheye if sprayed to heavy..A little trash will sand out easily. Dont stress and have fun
