GM WA4002 Bridgehampton Blue

At a car show about 15 years ago my wife saw a 71 Corvette with a beautiful blue paint job.
She asked the owner what color it was and he said it was factory GM color named "Bridgehamton Blue". (GM WA4002 or 979)
For some reason she has never forgot the name of the color and wants me to paint my 71 Chevelle Bridgehampton Blue when I finish the sheetmetal and body work.
If I recall it was a metallic but not sure.
Is anyone familiar with this factory Corvette color? What color primer should be used under it?
I also read on a Corvette site there was a color difference in the formula and that confused me.

If it is indeed a metallic would it be single stage or base coat, clear coat?
I won't be ready for paint for quite awhile and I just want to do my proper research. Any help greatly appreciated.

No expert, but here is some info:
*All 71 Corvettes were painted lacquer at St Louis back in the day
*yes it was a metallic, but not a high content metallic like you might see today
*again, no expert, but I think GM likely used a gray primer under blues. I think using a white epoxy sealer would make the blue look different than a gray sealer depending on the number of base color coats applied.
*you have to watch GM on color codes, for example 988 was used as cordovan maroon in 68 and 988 is Burgandy in 69, different shades of dark red and different PPG and Dupont, etc paint codes but same GM number
*Best link to color codes that I have found:

Hope this might help, good advice above too. You can google Bridgehampton Blue and see some photos, however, the color will vary a bit as you might guess. Unless you could get 2 Bridgehampton blue Corvettes side by side in the same light, hard to detect and even know what is the exact right shade.
