HEAVY CUT COMPOUNDS

I have been using Megs 105 for a good while now and am about to make another order for heavy cut compound and was wandering if you guys have any thoughts on Menzerna 1000? The Megs 105 has been good but I was wandering if the Menzerna would be a better choice?

I use the 300 heavy cut. With a wool pad, it looks like you sanded with 2500 grit. Follow with the 2500 on foam.

I thought Menzerna 300 was the heavy cut but these compound companies are always messing with product names. Anyway I’ve used the 300 but I prefer the ACA 3D 500. Use it with a black wool pad.

I absolutely love the combination of the Menzerna 400 using a Carpro denim pad on a rotary at 1000 rpm give or take. It takes some getting used to and you have to make sure you aren't getting too hot but I find the results amazing.

I color sanded this SPI single stage white out to 1500 then the Menzerna/denim pad combo with 2 to 3 passes. Then Meguiars 205 on an orbital with a microfiber pad.

there are a few companies out there making these single step systems. the thing about them is they are a jack of all trades, master of none kind of thing. i really dont see the point either because if you compound with a cutting pad, you still need to put on a foam polishing pad and do a second round. the only thing it really saves you is from having to buy a separate bottle of polish. so imo get a good compound and a good polish, 2 pads and have at it.
