How long should clear last?

I have a 2019 Subaru Outback in the factory tri coat white . The car was bumped in the rear quarter and repaired. It now is starting to show bubbles in the ( I think) base . I knew the car had been painted when I checked it out prior to purchase. When I fix the repair by either striping
and repainting it or having it sprayed by a shop how long should the SPI clear last . The reason I ask is my truck was damaged and the clear failed and started peeling after about 15 years and I'm one of those guys that hangs onto daily drivers for years .

Those bubbles are deeper than the base, is my guess. More than likely you will find filler applied in that area. There are lots of variables as to how long the clear will last. Most factory jobs will not last 15 years if left outside because the thickness of the clear is only sufficient to get them out of warranty. The more the clear is subjected to UV rays, the shorter the lifespan. I have a Camaro in the garage painted in 1990 with PPG 2020 clear that still looks great, but it has been driven less than 10,000 miles and stays in the garage. I also have a pickup I painted the same year with the same clear for my Dad that never saw a garage, and it started peeling after about 18 years. The PPG 2020 clear was not a polyurethane and had nowhere near the solids as Euro or Universal, so 3 coats should easily last 20+ years outside.

.
The answer is 1 year to 50 years.

Like said all depends on how taken care of and how used.
I've got a 22-year-old universal job
In my garage, never waxed or buffed again after first buffing, and it still looks great. 33,000+ miles since but only driven weekends when the top can be down.

Those bubbles are most likely holes that they just filled with filler and maybe moisture got behind. Only reason I say that is because they all look to be the exact same size.

Thanks for the input. I think I'm going to wait until it fails a bit more, it will give me a chance to practice with a tri coat paint, get better with the tig just in case I have to weld up some holes and it will warm up so I dont have to heat the shop.
Thanks everyone for the advice and experience
