How long till moderator approved?

I've been a member for a bit....and I have purchased for years. I'm wondering how long till my posts don't have to be approved? I mean, I guess I'm ok with waiting...but is it the amount of posts or time frame? Maybe I can call in and verify who I am?

The mods are volunteers and have lives of their own. Sometimes approvals take minutes, sometimes hours. Once you are established, no approval will be necessary.

Thanks for the reply. Of course Mods have lives of their own. I was in no way complaining, just asking what it takes to be "established" and if there was something that I could do to advance that establishment.

I think Crash has set it up this way so that we can maintain the high level of excellence that we have on this forum. It is in no way intended to be a slight to you. Once he feels he can trust you and what you post you will be approved.

Welcome to the forum BTW. It's a great place.:)

Brian set up this needing approval due to spammers slipping through, and it goes away after you post an ex amount of times; how many, I'm not sure, but it seems like it was 3 or 4 times.
It has worked very well.
Im usually on here checking about 4 am to 5 am every morning and checking a handful of times during the day.
Sorry for the aggravation; I check for this reason every chance I get.

I am a moderator on another forum. The amount of spammers that get past the filters is amazing. Sometimes they make what appear to be legitimate posts and then include a link to some product they are pushing. Other times they post a good answer or question but only to get approved and then their real objective comes to light. Also deal with narcissists, who post nothing by condescending remarks and insults at those asking for or offering advice. They never offer help, just brag about how successful they are, important they are, people they associate with, etc.

This site is run very professionally and hence the good attitude displayed by those who frequent here. A wealth of professionals that offer good, solid advice to help us hobbyists or even newbies to the auto restoration and painting world.

The wait will be over soon, and long forgotten!

So not only are you answering tech calls late into the evening, but you are moderating too? What are you Batman? Business man by day, crime fighter by night?
