I Messed Up the Edge of the Fender

I had painted the entire truck and was installing the driver's interior panel. The interior sheet metal was not quite flat so I tweaked it. Unbeknownst to me, this slightly modified the front edge of the door such that the door hit the fender when I closed it. (No, I'm not happy.) Door is OK. I plan to pull the fender AND inner fender forward about 1/16", primer the repair, wet sand the entire fender with 1200, spot the color, then shoot the fender overall with Universal Clear, same as it was. My question is, do I have to clear the lip that is under the hood? I didn't want to loosen the three small screws in the front because I fear they will not go back where they were, showing imperfections after the job is complete, and I didn't want to clear the screws either.

Any tips on any part of my process would be appreciated.

There are ways to get around doing that edge, but they are usually only done on daily driver vehicles. If that was mine to do I would certainly be removing those screws and clearing the jamb.

Thanks for getting the ball rolling, crashtech. It's one thing for a pro to make the blend; it's another thing for me to do it. I've used blending clear before but it's been a long while and I don't have any right now. I have a feeling I'd just be doing the clear twice.
