I NEED ADVICE ON ACCELERATOR

I am getting ready to spray a few panels and need some accelerator, my friend gave me some speedcote accelerated reducer "fast"and said that I should put 2-3 ounces in a quart of mixed Euro clear. The can is approximately 16 ounce size and he said he used it all the time with good results, I am no pro and will order spi polar if this won't work because I don't want to do the wrong thing. Thanks guys for all the help you give me.

I would not use a non-SPI product in an SPI clear, especially since to buy the correct product (quart of Polar) costs far less than one single redo. But that's just one small shop owner's take. If you feel adventurous, try it and let us know what happens!

Anyone that knows me, I'm not afraid of saying ok to use other products in my products if I "know" the product being used.
In this knowing the clear mentioned and then the statement, accelerated reducer scares me to death.
I would not use it; be safe if clear takes longer to dry, so be it.

I really don't know if I need accelerator or not, I use slow activator and my shop is always above 65 degrees, Do I need it or just wait longer between coats?

Accelerator is for when you need to get something out the door and down the road. If you have the time,, it's always better to skip it.

With the temp and slow activator you might put one ounce per mixed quart, that would be just enough to get the slow past the 65 deg.

@Barry , he did say "always above 65°," so I'm a little confused. I don't want to give out bad advice. Is it not okay to use Slow at 66°+ with no Polar? I thought that would not be bad at all on an overall, for example.

It's strictly his option.
But with slow at that temp wont creat any risks at all using small amount.
