LPH400 settings for single stage

I am going to be spraying some Motocryl (an entire 28 foot camper’s-worth to be exact). What are your favorite settings for an LPH400 for this? I have an orange cap and silver cap. Probably use the silver cap ?

Boy that’s a lot of real estate for an lph lol. And I love my lph! I find the orange cap sprays wetter. I’d prob go 1.4 orange cap. Just my opinion.

All I have is the silver and purple cap, so I don't know what the orange cap does.
With a silver cap and outside.
90 % fan
Three full turns out on fluid.
Because outside adjust fan for speed and conditions.
Trigger pulled air 24 to 30, and id guess the best setting for me 26 to 28 outside.
For me, with that gun 5 inches from the surface and hammer.

It’s not all one shoot. I’m using the seams in the metal as break lines and will mask and tape there to make more manageable areas to spray.

That’s a lot of area. I love my lph400 but I’d be using my Sata 5500 to shoot that.

I use 1.4, 2.5 turns out, 28 psi, and almost max fan to shoot SS with my lph400.

The Orange Cap is the same as the Silver but has 4 holes,2 each side at the tip opening for better atomization coming out the fluid tip with the same 2 per side on the fan horns.
Purple Cap has 1 per side on the fluid tip like the Silver cap But, 3 per side on the fan horns.
You didn't say what color.
Most Purple cap use is for better Base,Metallic, layout.
Silver is the best on SS and Clear.
Orange is supposed to be the best of both Worlds which is what is on my LPH now and my favorite personaly.
Iwata has one of the Best,Widest patterns I've used and should cover the 'real estate' fine with your approach to It.

Like Barry said 26-28 for the thick stuff outside. think I used like 22-24 inside with clear and SS. Been awhile since I shot full size.
I have all 3 and the Air cap guage but the best tool was a Tee with a guage AT the gun for setting psig initally so I knew exactly 'what' was going Thru the gun with the trigger pulled, not what was on the Regulator guage which will make a difference, remove it and shoot so no hardware hanging off my weapon except the plastic air filter..

If I’m understanding you correctly then, I should use the orange cap?

Here is today’s subject. We are prepping now. This is not mine, I’m helping a friend do it. Today we’re only doing the bottom third as these are two tone. The entire bottom third will get two coats of epoxy and then for SS I will only be painting two coats from seam to seam along the sides. So not a lot of real estate. About 3x20’ per side for SS. Tomorrow I will spray the ends.

We will not have weather or available weekends to finish the top this year so that will have to happen next year.

I will post some follow up pics so you can see how bad I butcher this :) D544E359-7C4C-4863-BA97-7497CAB72EFB.jpeg

I used the Silver cap on my LPH 1.4 for Clear and SS which are essentially the same thing.
The Orange cap was created as a one size fits all and does a great job if you have one gun but not worth the effort to get it unless you shoot all kinds of Base paint, which I do,and is awesome spraying that but really prefer the Silver 1.4 for your situation.
The Purple cap came before the Orange and was a must have for Metallic's which the Silver struggles with, then the Orange came out later with the additional atomization at the nozzle as the one and done gun.
You know we are Always looking for any help in this World and Iwata stepped up because They Listened to Us.
Lot of you guys missed out in the Early Days on Here. Barry did us a real solid by selling members Iwata at basically cost and I took full advantage. Still have some SPI t-shirts too.
Still didn't say what colors..

You know, I don't remember if it was Here or on Hotrodders when those came about. I picked up some for customers but kept most for myself lol....

Wow, I bought at wd prices and sold them for what I paid, and I ate freight.
But only sold to customers, but after over 100,000 dollars worth an on line tool company bitched, and i was told i had to sell them for the full list, i said go (I won't say)
All good things come to an end.

I actually prefer my orange cap for clear. I have silver and purple as well so it’s not like I don’t have a silver to use. But, different strokes for different folks.

Good for you. I thought price-fixing was still illegal. I wish more people would do business and treat others such as you do.

That's awesome.
I have the Black ones. Don't remember who did them, was sort of a group effort iir but super cool as my g'sons say.
