Matrix MPB 9000 and universal clears

You're welcome.

Now that you've been giving information about SPI products from the members here, as well as the owner, post some pictures of your current project you're working on?

We all enjoy following along with project builds.
As long as people enjoy pictures and stories of cars, shows and racing I’ll post stuff. The pics below are with Ed Kohler (KKs original driver) and KK restored at Lancaster NY in 2007. Us racing the Bizio Willys truck at Lancaster in 2005. Next is KK getting ready to go to Dewey’s place for removal of our graphics and front end rebuild. That’s the original Cal Automotive fiberglass on the car and trust me specially the front end was tired, full of hairline cracks. Dewey did a beautiful job restoring it. The last two are Dan DeLainey’s graphics work. Jack Lemon was a well known sign painter and graphics artist back in the 60’s and he did KKs artwork as well as many others. Dan to give tribute to Jack’s memory held himself back to the palette of colors available to Jack in the day.
The interesting thing about KK and Ron Bizio Willys is they were both from Southern California in the 60’s and ended up about 1/2 hour away in 2000s. Don’t let the picture fool you into thinking I’m a great racer, I’m no Ed Kohler!
We raced each other 6 times in two years and split 3-3. We restored KK in 2007 and Jeff and Jerry kept racing the Bizio truck up until a few years ago. Back in those days we were running 5.90s to 6.10s and Jeff went on to eventually run down to 5.40s.
Ed Kohler was an excellent driver and awesome guy, we miss him terribly, passed on in 2012.

Unfortunately there’s life’s other than cars projects going on but I will share the projects on deck and God willing I’ll be able to finish. The little Australian Ford Popular Ute is next. Unfortunately we had a garage fire in 21 and it got a lot smoke damage. I’m taking the opportunity to put in a street strip type motor so it will have more use than just strip.
The Opel GT is Jim Zakia’s Opel from the 70s-2004. Jimmy is quite a racer and he raced at Indy 32 years in different cars and Opel won his class a few times. The Opel flipped in testing in 2004 and we ended up buying it and a pro car builder friend Big John Torrelli rebuilt it. Jim is standing by his new Opel which Big John built and runs pretty quick in a 4.70 et class.

Here's a little tech tip about SPI epoxy. To get a higher build out of the epoxy, let it induce for four hours. I've even let it induce over night. Just remember to mix it well before use to break the solids down.

You can also use SPI epoxy on undercarriage parts that don't see UV light. The color won't fade.

I've enjoyed reading your questions. Looking forward to seeing your upcoming projects.
Black epoxy does have UV protection if you let it induce at least 4 hours.

Wouldn’t it be reliable to put a polyurethane topcoat with UV protection if there’s a possibility of sunlight hitting the surface?
I’m just going by stuff I’ve read on boat and outdoor counter tops on epoxy and how they protect them from UV rays?
