Media blasting

I need to strip the paint from the cowl assembly of my Model A. I have patched all the sections that need it and flap-disked all the accessible surfaces, but there are still many nooks and crannies that need to be stripped. I have considered using paint stripper, but would like to try glass beads if appropriate. I have only ever used coal slag (black beauty) in my blaster, but it is harsh, and does not leave a clean smooth surface. Are glass beads or crushed glass the right choice, or should I try the stripper?

I agree that you want crushed glass, and not beads. Crushed will cut and leave a tooth suitable for adhesion, beads on the other hand will almost polish the surface.

I suppose you could use beads or stripper, but after you will need to go back and profile the surface for proper adhesion, and the stripper will probably need to be neutralized.
