I am using Motobase LV, really like it so far, color matches have been very good (when the jobber mixes it correctly).
I am starting to run into "3 stage color" that require an undercoat. I understand what a Tri-Stage paint is, but these are different...?
For example a very basic solid red color Ford PQ Race Red. It wants me to buy an undercoat. When you look at the undercoat formula and the regular Race Red formula they are very close. Is this a gimmick to sell more paint?
I paint mainly plastic parts so I use createx colored primer sealers before basecoat. For example they sell a Red primer sealer that looks nearly identical to Race Red.
Just wondering your input on this if they are necessary to get?
