My first resto job, back in the shop, soon up for auction

This was my first restoration project, a '65 C10 that has been owned by the same family since '66. I started it when I was 18 and still going to tech full time. The owner's husband had some health issues which slowed the project, so it wasn't finished until early 2012. Now it's been handed down to a grandson who is selling it, and they've asked if I would handle listing the truck. They dropped it off a few weeks ago so I've washed it, had new tires installed, and will be addressing a few minor issues that have popped up- leaking heater core, ignition/carb tune up, noisy speedometer. I'm quite pleased that the work done has held up with pretty much zero signs of aging in the almost ten years since it was completed. It's been accepted to be listed on Bring A Trailer and should go live within a week or two.

I really like the detail in the jambs. One of the things that separate great from good IMO.
When I look at a restoration, after getting the overall impression, my eyes go to the edges; jambs, sills, bottom of rockers, fender lips, etc.
I think it matters that the painter cared enough about the low visibility or unseen areas, tells me that the underlying work is probably good.

It's pretty sad that they're not keeping it in the family.

Dean, the jambs were blocked and cut/buffed just like the outer panels. When I replaced the door bottoms and rockers I had to rework the new panels to make them fit like the originals, then dimpled the flanges using a carbide burr to replicate the factory spots welds.

Is that that the factory blue?

Absolutely beautiful.

It was supposed to be, we got the code from a local resto shop that had restored a same year C10 but its not as close as it should be. It changes colors depending on the light source, the brightness and color varies a lot more than the original color.

The truck didn't meet reserve on Bring a Trailer so the owners wanted to consign it at Streetside Classics, so it was delivered there last Saturday. I haven't seen it on their website or eBay yet.
