Negative effects of adding accelerator to clear?

I paint smaller parts and need to turn them around quickly as they will be handled quickly. In talking with Barry he mentioned adding some accelerator to the clearcoat mix to speed up the curing time. Are there long term downsides to using accelerator?

Long term I have no clue. Short term, if you add too much accelerator it may cure too fast and contract, killing some of the gloss, like a more subtle form of die back.

Looks like a good spot to ask a similar question, as I spray a bit of smaller stuff also. Besides dieback if using accelerator , what would be the first signs or problems if you have too fast of a hardner for the air temperature (hot).

Haven't had a problem with the first few gallons of spi I've been using at work, Just always good to know what to do about an issue if you come across it one day (in a rush)

I think less adhesion would be one issue possible.

No long term problems but to much and real high humidity could put tomuch water inthe clear and cause a popping or very hard to buffnext day.
It would take a fair amunt to cause this.

If Barry says its OK, I am sure its OK, just remember the effects of leaving the exhaust fan on too long after clearing to ever want to accelerate the cure.
