old paint/solvent disposal

$250 for a drum!!!! holy $hit. take that and run. i have a 55 here. takes me 3-4 years to fill it. to have them come pick it up and leave me a new barrel is $850. now i can get rid of the stuff for free once a year at the municipal dump but if i pay to have a disposal company pick it up i have paperwork proving what i do with my waste if anyone wants to check in on me.

Not only that, but waste companies who take drums from you make you sign forms that say you are still responsible for the drum even though it is in their possession. I said no thank you to that!

We just had three 55 gallon drums picked up and it cost me at $125 a drum and all my liability ended when we loaded on their truck.
BUT I had to breakdown every chemical in those drums and approximate percentages of each chemical.

We did buy a recycler 4-5 years ago and it was best money we have ever spent, we recycle all our cleaning solvents used to clean the mixing tanks and the lines and pumping stations.

We recoup 90-95% of what we pour in the recycled, some things are just not worth recycling and that is where the drums we just shipped off comes in. Most of those were hardeners, primers and recycling these items at full strength you recoup about 24-30 % at best and can take twice as long to recycle.
