lol they all have!! i just bought a tailight for a 2006 rx-8, $260 OEM. just my luck, there isn't a single used one anywhere near. i'm sure not the highest out there, but the highest i've ever paid for a dang tailight.

nice job on the truck!!

Yea, their was over 6k in parts. I think thats rediculous. I don't get it, I guess they have to make their money somehow.

nice work! thats enough total damage by an insurance company for three trucks! i stick to 89-95 toyota trucks. parts are cheap, motors get 300K...

Yea, this should have probably been a total, sad thing is the work really wasn't that bad, just the parts were so expensive..

For instance, toyota wanted $600 per leaf spring.. Rediculous..
I found some aftermarket ones much cheaper. but they are definetely getting out of hand with parts prices.. High enough that they are creating a lot of room for the aftermarket to make the parts.

thats what i dont get. oem is so outrageous now...forcing more aftermarket parts and forcing more insurance companies to include aftermarket parts in their estimates over oem parts.

i would much rather replace anything with oem parts, but you are almost forced to go with aftermarket because of the price.

Looks great, tell us what kind of buffer you used on it... LOL.

Is it me or does that truck already have the answer written on the boxside as to what to do OFF ROAD??

Insurance??

If they consider it totaled, it will carry that info forever. Can it be insured again after being fixed? I would guess most insurance companies would only put liability on it.

I wouldn't want to fix a vehicle that has that info on it.

Maybe he wants it back so he doesn't have to tell his wife! Told her it's just in for some mechanic work. :)

my toyota was just totaled, rear ended, and will be a salvage title vehicle. as long as it passes smog, brake and lamp test, and some good pictures, my insurance co will fully cover it, but if it gets totalled again i wont receive the same amount i just did.

He just paid cash, but nothing wrong with fixing a total, i've owned and driven many. I actually bought a vehicle that needed front bumper, hood, and bags.. Things get totaled easy sometimes.. And the cost of bags can be enough to total many vehicles.. Total is only based on value.. you could total a older vehicle very easy where a new one could be 5 times the damage without totaling.. IMO, things are getting totaled way to quickly these days because of parts costs.

And in fact I got it aligned and when i picked it up they asked why i brought it in because they didn't have to align it because it was all well within spec. Which was nice because they only charged me 15 to set it up..
