Paint for an un-garaged driver

I'm thinking about painting my 79 Chevy K20 truck. The truck will stay outdoors for the most part. I just want a nice looking driver that will get used. Does the SPI single stage paint hold up well and not fade quickly? I was thinking of doing a White/Red factory looking 2 tone color for the truck. I have been back and forth between single stage and base/clear. Thanks

I'm sure the SPI SS is great, as are all their products, and will hold up well.
As a beginner painter, I'm more comfortable with Base/Clear. Just seems to give more opportunities to fix problems. I like being able to color sand the base.
But, I've read that SS will give the same opportunity to cut out runs, nibs etc. So maybe that will work for you.
On the plus side for SS, one less step in spraying (and probably less material cost.) I feel the pressure with every coat that making a mistake in spraying could result in a lot of time spent sanding it off and re-doing.
