Paint/rust removal

So you guys don't abrasive blast panels? Seems like it would be much faster.

I've read about the dangers of sandblasting and I found out first hand, nothing serious but I see how you can mess things up fast.

I don't always do things in the best order, we worked on the top of the hood first and used milkstone cleaner after stripping the hood with a fiber wheel disc, epoxy primed then we sandblasted the rust that was on then underneath the hood. The rust was primarily on the bracing so I didn't think it would be a problem but you can see a distinctive line where we ran off the bracing and onto the hood. I had some dust in the epoxy that I wanted to sand out before spraying the 2K and it's definitely a low spot. Fortunately it all sanded out easily with the 2K coat!!

Lesson learned - Sandblasting can warp panels!!!
