Paint scrape repair

I painted this 74 bronco back in October and it has been sitting awaiting drivetrain and all the other stuff before assembly. Anyway I scraped a spot on top of the grill while unloading my parts straight from the paint booth. I was so sick I haven’t looked at it since. There is a little filler in this spot so it is fairly deep but not to bare metal. How do o go about repairing this?

You have a couple options, first is to touch it up with a brush. Use your regular base, let it dry good, then build clear up to above the surface. Treat it kind of like a run at that point letting it thoroughly cure and then sanding it flat, work high enough up in grit then buff.

The second is to feather out, use any glaze to level, seal, base, and reclear the panel.

If your good, and probably a little lucky you can get option 1 to look really good, you will probably see it but how much you see it and what you can live with is the question.

Ive done both, but most recently option 1 on my daily driver last year, brand new f-150 with about 500 miles on it and just nudged a make shift fence in a parking lot. My spot was low and really not easily visible. I didn't get mine all the way flat cause I had no idea how thick the factory clear was, I assumed super thin. It passes good enough for me and you have to look really hard to find it if you dont know its there. Having a custom job with hopefully a decent amount of clear to work with will only help the situation.
