Guys have been trying to organize Shops for years. It will never happen because the Industry is so fragmented. Thousands of Shops across the Country, means that if a large number do organize and stand up to the Ins Co's there will always be another shop in those areas that will do the work and work for the terms the Insurance Companies dictate. Even if it happened the Ins Co's would just open their own Shops.
I got into this right at the end of the Party. The 80's were the best time to make money in this Industry. In the early/mid 90's the Insurance Companies were just starting to put these policies in place. I made more money in 1995 ($1400/wk) than I did in in 2019. Wages have been the same or have decreased for everyone in the last 25 years. I knew of guys making $2000-2500 per week in the early 90's in busy areas. Los Angeles and the Bay Area there were guys making more than that. But the shift from everyone working on commission to hourly killed that.

I know it'll never happen but man alive it's horrible that shops get screwed over. You're working on vehicles that cost as much as a house sometimes and are getting pennies.
 
we are already in a recession guys . it will get much worse with the current admin . none of this is by accident . the dumbing down of america is almost complete . prices will continue to rise , business will fail , housing bubble will pop (already started ) gov will nationalize major industries . welcome to Venezuela .
but hey at least we dont have mean tweets right .

Our President is a geriatric feeb who is clearly suffering from dementia. The Admin is happy that gas prices are this high. They are still canceling oil leases on Federal land, even though the Bakken find is the largest in the world. They want gas to be over $5 a gallon to facilitate the move to EV's. Even though our infrastructure in this Country is not capable of supplying the electricity (rolling blackouts anyone) nor are there enough charging stations. All the while both Parties continue to run up insurmountable debt that will eventually cripple us.

I could go on but I better stop. Sorry for the rant. :)

i was my mothers caregiver and she lived with me the last 11 years of her life after she was diagnosed with dimentia.i took it as a duty to protect her and let her life be quiet and calm. i have never liked biden but i have no respect for his family that has allowed him to run for POTUS. that is NOT love.

i wonder how this country would be faring if 45 was still in office. he may be an an asshat, but he is a businessman. he was blunt. we need that. not some bumbling blubberhead and his cackling sidekick.
the USA is a business- one that is bankrupt financially, ethically, and spiritually.

I'm glad to see Rustoleum isn't on the price increase list, I'd never get my car finished if they raised the price.

What percentage will you be adding to the cost of your products, Barry?

That's good to hear but, I'd understand if you did. Those price increases from the other manufactutes may work to your advantage. If those buying products are getting feed-up with the price increases, they may start looking at other product manufactures, perhaps SPI. Quantity sold if high enough would off set material cost.

That could be win win for SPI. That is if you want additional business.

I don't get how they stay open. Yes I understand flat rate, but those hours are constantly trimmed as well. Little body shop down the street from me is $45/hr..... The local indy wrench benders are $150/hr.

I ordered Automotive Art MotoCryl SS on the 14th because Chad has told me prices were going up on the 15th. I see Automotive Art raised them 9.5%.

A civil servant that becomes a millionaire in his/her position shouldn't make any sense to anyone. Yet we let these people still breathe amongst us.
 
President Trump lost a billion dollars in his 4 year term. had it not been for that lying old hen and her minions we would have a robust economy and peace. sadly, far too many folks never pay attention until the bottom falls out.
