Rainbow look under base before clear?

The rainbow is gone once cleared. Just wanted to update and thank everyone for the help.
I had a few nibs and some peel so I sanded them out and refined everything to a 5000 trizact pad. I am using the 3 step 3m perfect it compound. Will I need to start out with the extra cut compound seeing as how I have it to a 5000 trizact scratch. Keep in mind it’s black.

Also what pad for first step, wool? That’s what I’ve used before but wondered what foam pad would substitute for wool?
Thanks again.

Someone is bound to comment on how 3m is full of oil that hides scratches. I would agree but don't mind because I think it helps the pad to not dry buff so much. After each pass spray some SPI 710 on the area. It will remove the oil and reveal any remaining scratches.

There is not a foam pad equivalent to wool. The coarsest foam pads I've used are the yellow from Chemical Guys. They cut really well, but not as good as wool. Finished to 5000, you should be able to start with foam, but if you did not completely remove the scratches each step the foam will not remove them. I just use wool initially because it removes the scratches with 1 pass, then go to orange foam CG pad with compound to refine the scratches. As AAE suggested, wipe your panel with 710 or isopropyl alcohol after compounding to make sure sand scratches are completely gone before going to next step.

I have the three pads 3m sells for the perfect it system. Wool, black, and light blue. I could run to the parts store in the morning and pickup a foam pad to use in place of the wool. I figure a white pad would be a good pad to start with?
My 5000 finish is really uniform with no sign of coarser scratches.

You can start on a small area with the white pad, and if no coarser scratches show up, you are 1 step ahead. Remember to wipe it down with IP or W&G remover to make sure. If you have scratches still showing, hit that spot with the wool pad and see if they disappear, then go over it with the white pad. The initial step is the most important. If it's right, the rest is easy.
