Razor Blade Stripping

Just learned about this this weekend on another post. I tried it with my cheapo razor holder for scraping paint off glass and after fiddling with it got my quarter panel on my Mustang stripped in about a half hour.
I didn't need to shower afterward because of all the dust and just swept the area below the quarter and I was done.

My question now is, what is the best tool to do this. The holder I used probably cost me $0.98 but does not support the blade very well. Are there other tools out there that work better? The one you tube video I saw the guy used a wide scraper. Is this a standard item in the paint section of Home Depot?

you use the wide floor scraper you will regret it later. buy a good single edge blade holder and a box of good blades. not the cheap 5 pack. if you warm the paint a little it will come off in long sheets instead of chips. one of those paint chips can cause major problems in your eye.

My son and I had a 60 impala in the shop over the winter for a strip and paint. It had a 30 year lacquer job and we stripped the majority of the car with a single edge razor blade. The key for us was getting a razor holder from snap-on (blue point brand ) that had a handle like a gasket scraper but slightly angled and it worked great, It was less 20.00 and worked much better than the std razor blade holder.

I use a Lisle 52000, works well. $10 at sears and elsewhere

Does this method work for all paint types - lacquer, SS, Base ?

Thanks Stephen
