Hoping someone could school me. Why use reduced epoxy instead of sealer, or vice versa. Benefits/problems with each?

The short version:
Epoxy is the best by far for a total seal job, adhesion and stone chipping.
Drawbacks?? Slow dry.

2K sealers are a little better then 2K primers as a sealer because they are tighter wound resins.
Great for production work as they are fast and can give a uniform coverage for base coverage and hide some small prep work errors.

one other thing, you'll find that reduced epoxy as a sealer doesnt fill irregular hand sanding scratches as well as a 2k urethane sealer so just keep that in mind. i always use epoxy as a sealer whenever i can.

Good to know as well! I plan on doing multiple layers and working my way up to the finer grits, so hopefully I won't have to need that aspect of 2K. Everyone does make mistakes though!
