Respraying thin areas of black metallic

Having fun learning!
Last night I sprayed the inside of the doors with black metallic and a matte clear coat (sorry, not SPI). I missed the inside of a couple curves that I would have swore I got. I think my stand that I built and used prevented me from getting the angle I needed on one of them and I thought I had it good enough. Live and learn. I did put the clear over those areas.

I need to get those curves. I have a small touch up gun and planned to tape and spray that this evening. My plan is to scuff it with 800 or 1000 grit wet and then spray it. Taping would be reverse (sticky side towards the area being painted) so to give a softer edge. Then clear over that. There is a piece of trim that will hide most but not all of it. I am not terribly concerned with the metallics not matching up. I just wanted it to stick and look reasonable. Is my plan going to work? Is the grit too fine? Attached a few pictures of the stands and where the areas that need touched up are.
