Roof rust removal (inside/under headliner)

My apologies if this was covered already, but in my searches I didn’t come across this same situation.

I removed my headliner to find a light coat of surface rust on various areas of my inside roof, roof panel support structures, and front/rear inside pillars. Car is a ‘68 GTO that was off the road the past 37yrs.

I’m in no position to separate the roof skin from the support structure of this driver quality car, but would also like to do the best I can for it none the less. The interior is out of the car. I can hit everything I can with abrasive strip discs or bristle discs. I can slide strips of sheet metal between the support structure and the roof skin and safely blast the support structure without touching the roof panel if that would help, although I’ll never reach what’s trapped between.

Not a stranger to Ospho so I was thinking of spraying everything I can with it several times after sanding, properly neutralize/rinse, and then SPI epoxy prime.

Open to any and all suggestions. The visuals of the completed job are not a concern as it’s entirely out of view. Reducing future rust is my only goal.
Thanks

just leave it . it will never rust through .
I guess not in my lifetime, especially being that it’ll hardly ever even see a rainstorm… I just feel compelled to do something to it seeing how the inside is ripped out and it’s staring me in the face.
The rear roof pillar area is probably the worst area, but also the one I have the least access to.

Thanks

I have EXACTLY the same situation. Shine's answer sure makes it a lot less work. Like you Goat22, it just seems like I want to do something. It goes against my nature to cover up rust, but I am a complete novice in this area, and will listen to any ideas on this great forum. Their experience is unparalleled!!
