School bus paint job

Induction question. Not going to paint in the most ideal situations. It says 30 min induction time but read overnight can be better. Should I mix the 1 gallon of epoxy with the activator in a 5 gallon pale and leave uncovered overnight?

It has been pointed out that Barry overfills the epoxy primer activator, so I would measure with a mix cup or similar before pouring into the 5 gal. pale. Don't know if it is enough to matter, but I would measure just to be sure. Letting it induce overnight will make it thicker, which is a good thing if you're looking for build.

Not sure I necessarily want it thicker. I have a gun with a 1.5 and a 1.8 tip. I just want the strongest bond possible.

OH/ratio is not affected by the small amount of overfill on my end.
In other words, if you want to mix a gallon kit, just dump both gallons and mix, don't waste time measuring out.
I have done this myself a dozen or so times.

Questions about seamsealer and topcoat. I have a decent weather window for 2 days. If I spray 1 coat of epoxy on Sunday morning, can I put on my 3m 2k epoxy seam sealer in the afternoon? Then spray another epoxy coat on Monday morning, wait a few hour and spray my color? Or should I do 2 coats on Sunday, seam on Monday and just paint? I'm trying to avoid re sanding in between coats. It's too F ing big.

The great thing about painting the roof is that no one is really going to see it, so, it doesn't have to be THAT perfect. We opted for a RUST-OLEUM BRAND primer (rust brown) and paint (gloss white), rather than automotive which is what we used for the body of the bus

If your temps are good 70 or above, yes, you can pull your plan off.
