Sealed max time to base

I know another sealer question but I can’t seem to find the answer that I need. I sprayed a coat of reduced epoxy mixed at 25% today around 4pm. Am I ok to spray base without sanding in the morning? I didn’t want to rush it. I’ve read less than 24hrs but not sure if that involves sanding or not.

To fix a run just wet sand 600 and reshoot sealer in that area or does whole part need to be sprayed.
Thanks just making sure I’m doing it right.

let it flash 30 minutes and go right to base. no need to wait unless you spray it unevenly and there are thick wet spots. spray it and treat it like its your first coat of base. once all the base is on, let it sit overnight then clear next day. to fix a run then you need to let it dry enough to sand out the run which will probably be the next day. you really dont want to spray the epoxy wet where you would have a run. your not trying to get it to lay out like clearcoat. it should not flow. if it does then its way too wet and your going to have cratering issues. you want the thinnest even coat possible.

Wait really? 30 minutes from reduced epoxy sealer to base coat? I’ve been waiting a minimum of 6 hours. How long can I wait without having to sand? I sprayed the underside of the hood tonight with my sealer coat... I was going to go back at midnight for color... but if I can make it until morning that is so much better. Color early morning and clear after work.

if the coat is thin then the epoxy just needs to flash dull before you base. Typically 15-30 min. If you didnt spray even and you uave heavy areas you will run into problems though. If thats the case then 6hrs is fine. I try to get base on epoxy sealer in 24hrs or less
