Shrinking of paint materials

I see many claim no shrinkage period with their paint products. I have always assumed that chemical speaking all of this stuff shrinks to a certain degree, even if we can not detect it with our eyes. Am i wrong? I seen a statement recently posted in a paint forum where a paint seller posted this, "no, slick sand is polyester aka liquid filler. Mine is a true acrylic urethane with a killer build. But won't shrink, and sands like a dream." I was always under the impression all this stuff shrinks to some level, even if not detectable. Is there a chemist in the house who can clarify this for me, Barry? BTW, Hi, from Montana!

one reason to use the right gun and not depend on reducing to get the paint on . i've said it before " solvents aint your friend "
