Speed Clear

I guess I would have crammed the tech sheet in there also and really cluttered it up. LOL

This speed clear makes me look like a hero. Even though it's more expensive, I might just start using it on all the everyday collision work during cold weather! I had a two-tone bedside and four-door cab side to paint last night and not only did it knock at least an hour off my completion time, it looks fantastic! So nice to put 2 coats back to back, wait 15 minutes, and roll the next thing into the booth, something I would never have dreamed about in a cold weather air-dry environment, until now.

Wow!
Thank you, Crash!

So, it's actually a less expensive product.

Sprayed 2 doors and a cab corner on a new Silverado last Tuesday. Came out nice with some small dust nibs. Sanded the nibs with 1500 the next morning, then finally got my bedside so I started working on it. Truck sat outside Wednesday and Thursday in cool but sunny conditions, and I got the bedside painted Thursday before I went home. Friday morning I denibbed 3 pieces of trash on bedside, and ran over most of the panel and the 2 doors with Tolex to make sure I didn't miss anything. Then sanded with green Buflex and finished with 8000. I was worried about the doors buffing hard, but the opposite occurred. The scratches in the doors came out immediately with an orange pad with Sonax Cutmax, but the bedside scratches were a little more stubborn. I believe the bedside was a little softer causing the 1500 scratches to be a little deeper. Anyway, the Speed Clear buffed way easier than expected after 2 full days in the sun, so I'm not worried about letting it sit a few days anymore. Still have not found anything not to like about it. I have thought about trying it on the C10 I'm spraying complete in pieces, as a first round. Moving or handling the parts could be done in an hour or so, and it would be possible to flow coat a panel the same day if you wanted. 2 coats go on really flat, so sanding with anything coarser than 600-800 would not be necessary. Then 3-4 coats of universal to finish, for ease of buffing. Lots of possibilities.
