SPI black and Euro clear

W

ws6 beat

Hello I thought I'd share some pictures of my 1996 ws6 Trans Am I'm painting.

A little back story. It was the first car I ever bought. It's a 6 speed 1996 ws6 trans am. I bought it when I was 19, shortly after that I got a speed contest ticket:). I got jumped by some fraternity at a USC v UCLA footballl after party. Anyway I tackled the biggest one and he fell into my car putting a huge dent into one of the quarters and that's where my journey into painting began. The first time around I used HOK shimrin bc25 black and universal. Car came out great but was eventually parked at my parents while I went to school. Car got scratched and both bumpers were ruined by my dad pulling it in and out the back yard. He isn't a very good stick driver. Last year I started working on it and got most of it painted, but then football started and I coach now so it had to go on hold. I started back taking classes at the junior college this spring to finish up. I have one bumper left before the entire car is done. Products I used this time around are SPI Black base, Euro clear, spi slow reducer, SPI 2k primer

If i read this right, your leaning??? Got to say it looks professional too me!!!! Great job!

Barry I've been painting for a while. I'm no pro, I did work at a collision shop for a few months once, but I don't work in the industry anymore. I'm just a car guy that has too many hobbies.

SPI black is so black it makes people notice. Once buffed it is like a mirror. Use it once and it will be your favorite black if black is what you truly want.

Great job on that car!

Thank you 68. I've been lurking and watching your work for years on here and 101. Thanks for the lessons.

Everyone at the junior college I painted at wanted to know what paint and clear I used. Going to spray a 95 Tahoe in SPI black and euro this summer.
