Hey guys, I as you all know im stripping my 65 mustang to bare metal. I am having to strip and spray epoxy in sections due to life circumstances. Anyway my question is I want to make sure the care is sealed properly through the winter. So what is the best way to do this and when should the 2k process come in before or after sealing. Basically I dont want to have to strip it all back down and redo but pick up at 2k primer and move forward. Thanks for the help

I stripped my 66 Mustang down to bare metal several years ago and then put it in epoxy. It is my next project if I can ever get my current one done. Anyway it has been in a 3 sided carport so it is protected, but still gets a bit of sun on the deck lid in the late evening. The decklid has chalked up a bit, but other than that it has kept the metal fully protected. I had a cover over the roof and doors because there is no glass in it. When I take that cover off the epoxy looks as good as it did the day I sprayed it. I wish everything I bought was as good as SPI stuff :)

I am stripping all the paint off the entire car, and will epoxy the whole car before fall. In a few weeks at most I will put a 302 in an park under garage during fall and winter. I just wanted to make sure I was good as long as its covered in epoxy. I know that the SPI products have to be a certain temp before 2k and epoxy can be sprayed at or above 76 degrees.

If stored outside where occasional sun will hit it, best to let the epoxy induce for 60 minutes. At least that is what I think Barry said. It helps build resistance to UV.
