Spot blaster question

Got this little spot blaster as a gift, and never used it until today. It has 80 grit glass in it, and 90 psi. I was surprised how well it worked. My question is, will this have the same effect on the metal as my regular pressure pot blaster as far as distorting the metal? Due to the fact I’m hitting it straight on. There are a few areas like this with small pits after using naval jelly. It could be changing one mess for another, I realize.
I never blast the outside of a car except in certain instances. But I like how fast and easy this works.

I have and use this tool very frequently with 80 grit beads to clean up small areas left behind after removal of surface oxidation. I use 40PSI working pressure to spot blast certain areas and have never caused damage whereby the metal is stretched to see any visual recognition. Priming and blocking should level off any minor artifacts left behind.
