SS over epoxy in jambs and T-tops

Hey everyone, finally ready to start the project, will be ordering the epoxy and SS early next week. I've decided to go for painting myself in the garage, but panel by panel over a period of time, it will be Black SS.

The question is for the first part which is the t-tops. I won't need to do any body work or blocking on this section. How should I go about the process?

Hit it with 2 coats of epoxy and let it sit for a day or so, then paint? Would you seal it with reduced epoxy again before the SS a few days later? That might be a waste, but I'm not sure.

Or can I hit it with 2 coats epoxy and paint it with the SS that day?

Best bet is epoxy one day and next day use you SS.
You said T-tops, so if a gm earlier than 1988 it may be lacquer and that if so the lacquer needs to go.

Thanks Barry, yes I stripped it all down. I'm stripping the whole car down as well and starting with epoxy as the base over metal.
