This ain’t no black single stage…

Dean do you find the epoxy floor coating to be slippery when wet? I ask because my mother in law had her garage and outside concrete walkway under a overhang done, and I noticed it was slippery when we stopped over the Christmas Eve. Might be a different coating.

I used the Rust-Oleum kit from Home Depot. They offer a traction additive that is some fine silica sand. I put that in because I had heard that it was slick without it.
You can feel the sand in the coating when you run your hand over it and it is not slick, even when wet.

Thanks for the info

Got the shell cut and compounded. Despite checking and rechecking I ended up having a dog hair in the base on top of one of the fenders. The base amplified it, had to fix it. After a couple of dismal failed repair attempts Chris helped me get it repaired. It looks good now. Thanks Chris!

I also changed up my cut and buff process based on Jim’s latest posts. Eagle yellow 1000, Tolex 1500, Buflex 2500 and Trizact 8000. I can’t believe how well this worked in less time with a better result. I followed it up with ACA 3D 500 on a black wool pad. It only took a few passes of the compound to get it looking great. I’m going to try try the 520 polish when it gets here. Thanks Jim!

The color looks darker in the sun than under shop lights and the booth lights.

Just finished this 66 in same color. I used DBC and it covered terribly. All spi epoxy and universal. View attachment 19283View attachment 19284
Truck looks beautiful. Very nice work. Looks like a very nice new Shop as well. Looking at your pictures, I was distracted looking at the top pic and the light switch in the background. I can't see any wires going into it. Where are the wires? Super clean looking installation and your Shop in general looking at that pic.

Coverage was not one of DBC's strong suits, especially white and red. Sealer color made all the difference. That color over white or dark grey would look totally different without excessive coats.
