Time between base and clear

I got the nibs sanded and sprayed more base today. Looks pretty good to me now.
Since most of the nibs were on the top surfaces only, I started thinking that some of the dust was coming from where I had papered the trunk opening. I had done that the previous day and I had missed closing the window that night. So I think dust may have entered the window and settled onto the paper. Before I sprayed the base this morning, I taped plastic sheeting over that paper to eliminate that as a potential problem.

So, my plan is to spray the clear tomorrow. For good measure, I'm going to put on new plastic sheet at the trunk opening before I start.

Thanks everyone for your help.
It went well today. I have some dust nibs but I don't see color to them at this point. I think they sand and buff out just fine. No runs either. I am both relieved and happy. I love the color and can't wait to see it out in the sun and at dusk!
I put on 4 coats. As slick as it is already, that should be plenty for a color sand and buff. I used the settings for my Iwata LPH-400 that Shine recommended to me way back when. 23 psi, fan wide open - back 1/2 to one turn, fluid 3 to 3.5 turns out.

Roger what do you think of the color? Is it what you hoped for? I ask because I have something I'm thinking of doing in the dark red as well.

It is what I hoped for Chris. I can't stop looking at it!
I took a few more pics yesterday when I moved it to my other shop stall. The first one has some sun on it. On my computer these photos appear pretty close to what my eyes see. It does look a lot different in the sun than in the shade and I like that effect.
