Tip over jig vs. rotisserie

Thanks jenkinsde.
I still have a few questions if it's okay.
Is the 4 x 4 across the front to bring in the mounting points in closer to the center? It looks as though the "cross tube " is too short to attach the arms to the actual body mount point.
Also, is the 4 x 4 to make the body more level front to back?
I mocked up my rotisserie today and there's a 3" disparity in height (measured from the floor) at the rotating points with the body barely lifted off the jack stands. I'm assuming the rotating points/tubes have to be exactly at the same level otherwise it would bind.
I've read Lizer's thread about his rotisserie binding and the rotational mass being centered. How does one find the center of the mass (body)?

Sorry for all the questions. I have a morbid fear of my Cutlass doing barrel rolls across my shop the first time I try to spin the rotisserie.

This is the rotisserie I have, https://titanlifts.com/titan-automotive-rotisserie-rot-4500. Very little paperwork.

Thanks, K. Lee

Yes, the 4X4 is because the mounting arms wouldn't spread wide enough to reach the front end frame mount points.
My rotating points are not at the same height, probably 4-5" difference.
I put a level on the door sills and just adjusted until the body was level. It rotated fine that way.
I wanted the Titan 4500 but is was on backorder, so got the Tuxedo 3000 instead.

I mounted it up and then did a test spin to see how it would work - and it went well. You can just try a few degrees and see how it goes.
Might be helpful to have a helper the first time, standing by to lock the cam at one end if it starts getting away.

Good luck!

I'm another vote for the rotisserie. Ideal for prep and priming inside while standing through the window/ door openings. When I built our rotisserie I also added tie-down D rings so it could be easily transported for media blasting. And those guys love it because it makes their process easier..

i gotta ask:
how long before the boss noticed the air wasnt hooked up the the sander??? :)

It's a Bluetooth sander...… this was a photo op to show the benefit of turning the car on the side. That is actually how it was prepped and also how we sprayed the epoxy on the inside (ceiling and floor in same sitting)... by walking through the window openings.

A huge thank you to jenkinsde for the helpful advice.
Got the body on the rotisserie and dialed in pretty good. Wasn't near as scary as I thought it would be.
Now, if I can learn to spray,,lol.

Looks good!
This tool is on my list of must haves for the next car project when I do one. No fun laying on your back welding and trying to paint underside. Enjoy!
