Not sure of the weight but you are right, they are heavy. Made largely from white metal, solders easily and is very easy to work with.
These kits take a stupid amount of time to do a nice job....has to be a labor of love for sure. I’m sure I’ll have more time in this thing than one of my drivable cars.

It’s funny, everyone asks me how time and I honestly have no clue. Purely a hobby and subjects I’m passionate about so the time flys by. It’s many hundreds of hours for sure.

SPI universal reduced 33%....lays down like glass and retains all my surface detail, fantastic stuff.

Funny, I was thinking the same thing watching the race this weekend......Should be a rule.....make all race cars shiny again.

I finally (just now with dinner) watched the rest. The fact I still have the last few on dvr says they've been great races.
Not a fan of full course cautions in F1, kills strat, but bunches em up for us at home
I would like minimum 2 tire changes mandated & more engines then 3 so they can push harder.
Benz had gloss beginning of year till they followed the others. Non-stick maybe? I prefer yours heh.

That thing is so real looking I think this model is better looking then the real thing. Unless this is a real car and what they show on TV are models.

What do you use for a little spray booth? I havent figured out if I want to buy or build one.

I kind of like the Red Bull in matte, Ferarri not so much. The Red Bull testing livery was awesome this year.

Thought of building one also but you can buy these things so cheap it’s not worth the hassle. Works great, has three bright LED lights,easy to clean filter and costs less than 100 bucks.

How much does that weigh when your done? That is incredibly detailed. I looked into those and they appear to be mostly metal, right?

Just weighed it.......3.4 pounds.

The body is resin.
Lots of pinholes and fine tuning, filler

and block sanding just like the full size cars. Way more work than injected molded plastic.
