was on my facebook feed today

I made a few posts on a few of the Facebook pages recently, I tell ya some of those sites are just ego trips, it gets rather annoying.

Were you able to view the post in the attached link?
They used SPI clear and they are blaming the clear for peeling

Not a Facebook member so I can't get on to see, but people call me when they get "dirt, runs, orange peel, fish-eyes, solvent pop" but they don't call me when clear falls off???
Right, now the rest of the story?

Stuff like this has always been a sore subject for me. I browse a lot of groups dedicated to cars and often I hear stories of clear peeling off. I’'ve heard it from all brands ranging from PPG, DuPont, HB Body and down to S.W. With so many DIY’s these days of course it’s never the sprayer, so it must be the product *grin* . Yes, I have read several groups bash SPI and they seem to somehow relate the lower price to a lower quality product or they say how “they have attitudes”. It’s the typical case of the parrot repeating mantra of what it hears ; “you get what you pay for”. So a low price must, of course, equal low quality, right? *grin again*
These people need to take a course in business and learn how costs and overhead are passed down the line into products. So far I don’t see SPI sponsoring a race car nor did I get a cup or jacket with their name on it. Myself, I went with SPI because I got sick of the twice a year price hikes by PPG for the same products I use. Even the paint outlet I deal with makes fun of it. I did look at HB Body as an alternative but leaned towards the SPI polyurethane product instead as well as the many of endorsements from people who have actually used it.
As for attitudes…I have been lurking in this group prior to asking my first question and I come to recognize several names on here for whom I feel are very knowledgeable and respected based on their past replies and help given and I take what they say as guidance. I have never seen “attitude” here but only a willingness to help.
This is only a hobby for me but one I do take serious and I am always researching to stay on top of the learning curve and I have read and heard so many times, ad-nauseam, of when people bash a product and their bashing is always plagiarism from someone else they heard it from. As an example, the actual Bondo brand is one of them where it’s like a copy and paste for comments people say about how much junk it is when they haven’t even used it. I’ve removed Bondo (actual brand) work as recently as last year that I applied back in the early 80’s and it was removed only for the sake of using modern technology epoxy and never has it fallen off, cracked, lifted feather edges, bubbles, etc…..in all those decades because it was applied on properly prepped surfaces and used thin as it should have. A product doesn't’'t stay on the market for so long if it’s junk.
People who criticize a product should get original and actually try it first before spewing out someone else’s words and if it does fail then it’s likely what I call ‘pilot error’.

OK....Sorry fellas.....I'm off my rant!
