Quick question for everyone whats the best filter to use to keep overspray down when exiting the fan to the outdoors. Not looking to piss off the neighbors.
Thank you.
Ended up buying a box of those filters. About the same as a cheap furnace filter lol. Gonna end up buying some paint pocket filters and give those a try
Exhaust filters only trap solids, not solvent. There will be a cloud when you spray. The more restrictive the exhaust filters , the more cfm you will need to clear the area you are spraying in. It can get expensive real quick. Even fairly expensive booths just shoot the overspray out of the top after drawing across cheap fiberglass filters.
I use those same filters on my homemade paint booth. They do trap some of the overspray as they will get loaded up after awhile, but I think some of it still gets through. Not a big deal for me as there is nothing on the other side I need to worry about.
1/2" thick gives more capture than the 1/4" variety. This pad is not designed for paint overspray removal. It works best in tandem with a Paint Arrestor Filter pad.

but like texasking said, the more restrictive your filters are, the more cfm you need and my fans wouldn't cut it with them in. So I just make sure there is no one around when I spray.
