With all of the bs going on in the world right now, I haven't seen our grumpy guy post in abit... Just making sure he is good..

Barry did not start the thread.
There were concerns from several members that it was getting political, and I posted in a roundabout way was not going to happen.
It was going south, so talk to the poster and felt we had covered and explained the issue of masks best we could, and he mentioned he though a few of the older people did not like him; I said I don't see that here, and he agreed so deleted.
Barry takes full responsibility for this action.
 
All political bs aside. I hope that you are all doing well. I was told to work from home for the next few weeks so I immediately put an SPI order and so I can double dip and paint some stuff. Hopefully I stay healthy over the next few weeks so I can get some shit done.

As an aside I'm worried not about the virus but what's happening to the economy and what will happen in a few months. I had a good job lined up after I finish what I'm on now. Guy called yesterday and cancelled on me. Said he took such a beating in the stock market that he can't afford it. My combined savings have lost 35% in value since this started. So I'm worried.

You don't lose until you sell, it will bounce back with a vengeance, may or late summer.
The customer will be back.

I refuse to look at my 401k, I hope Barry is right and it will be just a blip in the graph. I still have a dream of "Little Graveyard Cars" in my retirement :)
 
I guess I worry because I grew up listening to my Dad's stories about the Great Depression. He was in his 20's (he was 64 when I was born:)) during the worst of it. He freely admitted it affected how he lived the rest of his life. Ironically (compared to today) the most shameful thing during that time to most folks was accepting a handout from the government. Looking back on history maybe it was God working in his own way though, cause it made for a generation of tough young men (and women) that changed the course of history in WW2.
 
There has never been anytime in history when the market took a dump and didnt come back. Like barry said, you only lose if you get nervous and sell now. As soon as this all passes it will skyrocket again. If your still in it now then stop paying attention and ride it out.
 
No doubt if i was holding & building portfolio, it's times like these you add.
So much electronic trading today. Trading floor used to have traders & papers everywhere end of day lol.
People leave gtc (good till cancel) sell orders in thinking it'll save them if it tanks. Just accelerates swings & if u don't get back in, you're done. Don't ask how i know so well lol.

Where the hell is Shine..
