Which clear to use ?

What clear would you all recommend for a person who has never sprayed any clear coat ? I am using a Nason Colorado red SS top coat on a "87" Jeep Comanche. Will be doing a panel at a time where possible. I guess clearing can be done this way with good results ? I have everything figured out as far as what I need to order...except the clear. I was not going to clear but after a lot of reading and some comments I received on this forum, I'm going to take a "shot" at it.
Thank you for your help.

If you're doing it in pieces, use the universal. You can buff it forever. Euro and production get like concrete after a week or so.

I'll vote universal cause it's equal parts clear/activator. Easy as is gets to mix any size batch.

Show car or will it be in the mud and dirt?

Guess it will be classified as a show car. Certainly won't be seeing any mud and dirt.

Thanks for the help folks. Universal seems to be the one to go with. Doing what I can on the weekends. Hoping it will be complete in a year.

1 gallon of clear and 4 quarts of activator is a good start, and on a Jeep might be enough depending on how many coats you put down

I would not say Universal is easy by any means. takes a long time to get your spray technique right after spraying the water thin clears. Now that I know people are adding reducer and retarder, its a little different.
My question was based on buffing. Show car you can buff after you paint, buff next year, euro gives you I think 10 days. What that tells me though, is how you consider hard as something that cracks easy or something that is super strong.

I recommend spraying SPI epoxy primer to anyone who hasn't ever sprayed clear. It has the dual purpose of getting your vehicle ready for paint while also teaching proper spray technique. Once you can get a decent looking, semi-glossy coat of epoxy laid out on a large surface, you are ready to try any clear in SPI's arsenal.

I recommend spraying SPI epoxy primer to anyone who hasn't ever sprayed clear.

That is my plan. I am hoping that by the time I get to color and clear coat that I have decent handle on spraying. Been kind of holding off on buying everything cause I know the work is going to get serious when I get it. Kind of a love / hate thing.
