Why does my epoxy look like I rolled it on?

Crashtech: "I have. Everything I spray gets poured through a strainer"

I thought Troy was talking about a strainer insert that fits into a PPS cup. I'm not familiar with those. Only the Devilbiss Decups. I have some devilbiss inserts I believe go into the adapter and have never used them. I always use a 190 micron strainer the fill the paint cup.

Sorry for posting the misleading message.

I probably should have asked you to clarify! Mostly I want to make sure that new people reading through this won't get the wrong idea.

That’s exactly what it looks like when you have a substrate in the gun that’s too thick for it to spray and it splatters. The very last bit in the gun turns into a sludge unless it was all sprayed right away.

Though I won’t lie, I have no recollection of ever cleaning my gun out in between epoxy coats. I mix the cup with a stir stick prior to spraying. Maybe don’t do what I do.
