Clear coat orange peel or not orange peel that is the question

What would be the cause of this orange peel?

I got the same result without and with 10% reducer.

3coats clear

First coat looks like this as well, with 75-80 percent overlap I get this as I go down I can see the clear fill in. I’ve tried adding more fluid and going slower, if I go faster it doesn’t fill In

Upol 2:1 HS clear
Slow hardener
Slow reducer

Debilis starting line gun
1.3mm tip
2turns out fan
2turns out fluid
30psi in gun inlet

90 degree F, clear cot
80degree outside

I would try full fluid and full fan also maybe a touch more air pressure(33-35). That's a lower end type gun and its not going to atomize the clear terribly great unless you crank it up a little. I generally hate giving advice on this type of stuff, but if I was in your position, thats where I would start. The panels look a little dry.

greenhorn caveat but I started with the startingline gun. only way I was able to get clear to lay half-ass was to over reduce.
upgrade to the finish line was a massive improvement.

One other thing to consider is your Air Compressor output. That gun takes 13 CFM to operate correctly, so if your compressor doesn't put out that much the gun is not operating efficiently.

I learned this the hard way, constantly struggle to get consistency. The gun would start out spraying fine but in just a few seconds I would be upset with the results.

Technical Manual States:
ATTENTION! READ BEFORE ATTACHING THE AIR HOSE
HVLP AIR SUPPLY REQUIREMENTS:
FULL SIZE GUN: 30 PSI inlet pressure provides 10 PSI at the air cap. Consumes 13 CFM.
TOUCHUP GUN: 30 PSI inlet pressure provides 10 PSI at the air cap. Consumes 8 CFM.

NOTE: USE 5/16" OR LARGER I.D. AIR HOSES

An idiot perspective
Glass out of the gun….Its luck for a novice.
Even with careful instruction from these professionals on gun settings, overlap, travel speed…there are too many variables to dial in for that hoped for finish.
I attribute it to time behind the gun.
The good news is…you can use the cut and buff to get what you want if you follow the method that many have used to eliminate that peel.
You got it. Just trust the process.

Since I am an amateur at best, here is something to ponder. I have messed with dirt track cars all my life, the best advice I was ever given as to how to go fast was, "You don't know has fast you can go until you spin out a few times." Most people that are trying to learn to paint are worried about getting runs, until you get a few you are more than likely spraying dry. Yor pictures look like dry spray to me? I spray heavy and wet, a few sags now and then, but that's better than dry IMO.

Thanks for all the help!

Ended up with
2bar
Full fan then 1/4 in
Fluid all the way out then 2 in

Spraying with 4 inch close get weird but seems to have helped along with the settings. A lot of runs but no texture. This was a flow coat basically I sanded with 600 and recleared.

Really happy with it now just gotta practice and get consistent on bigger panels

Your first pics are too dry, which means you're going too fast and/or too little fluid. Your second pics are too wet, so you were either going to slow or increased fluid too much.

It takes a lot of practice to get it just right. 75% overlap helps reduce dry spray, especially if you like to spray a little faster like me.

Instead of setting your fluid 3 turns in from all the way out try 2.5 turns out from all the way in. This works well with most guns.

How can I tell if it’s too wet? Other than the runs. Also I noticed a lot of solvent popping while I was spraying
