Those of you that have I used HOK base. Tds states up to 4 hours to clear coat...I got put some stripes on a 70 camaro and need a longer open time. Can I get away with three days to clear or do I need intercoat...thx, I've never shot their product...will be uv clear, hence the question here

you can have 3mos if you want it. no need to use intercoat. just add maybe 10% slow reducer to the clear and avoid tack coats or light first coats. just spray normally. 4hrs is nonsense. they are just trying to sell more product

Thx jim. This is a stencil kit that is new to me also..only wanna do this once...

If it leaves behind glue then you cant use it. I always just use that as a template and lay everything out by hand. If the kit is bad then that is what youll have to do. The one intried left 100% of the glue behind. It ruins everything by the time you spend hours with 710 or mineral spirits getting it all off

Phoenix Graphics stencils do leave some residue. 710 and Sprayway has worked for me with a lot of patience. Don’t use 700!

Activating your base might make it easier to remove the residue.

yes don thats the brand i used. on top of that, the cut was really crappy and irregular. not precise at all. very sloppy.

i dont think so. now its been years since i used that kit so dont quote me. i have had some things leave behind residue with no spray over it. it just sat for a few hours, while other things only leave behind glue where the solvent has sat for on it for awhile. its just too hard to nail it down.
