Method to pour paint from a can

True that the lip of the can needs to be dry, and I would guess that it helps to use a tape with strong adhesive too. Orange Frog Tape worked great for me. The problem with the spouts to me is the waste if you throw them away after each use, but then again, I use disposable paint cups too and they go straight to the landfill as well.
No need to throw them away. I just scrape them off with the stir stick, wipe it down with a dry paper towel and then again with reducer on a paper towel and it’s clean for the next time.

Most everything I paint is well less than 4oz. per coat so I use a big syringe for everything. I keep a cup of leftover reducer, acetone, vodka, whatever and use it to clean the syringe. Not so much help for painting the Suburban, but if you are only using truly small amounts of something it's perfect. I've kept a quart can of epoxy primer spotless and crud free for 10 jobs over 12 months :)

I do the same on the lip of the can so my tape sticks just fine next time around.

Am I the only one who uses this trick to pour paint?
