Search the site for answers

Curmudgeon is a great word! I wish I had the opportunity to use it. I always run a Google search before asking a question on here. I do like to hear from the experts on this site directly though. I'm new to all this and don't want to make a potentially very costly mistake. I find on almost all forums the search function is terrible. When using Google, I just type in what I'm looking for then "spi forums" (or whatever forum I want to look in). For example; "what grit for final sanding spi forums". This has been very effective for me.

If there is a takeaway for a new person here, I'd say search first and ask questions later. Taking some time to read the questions and answers that have come before will probably make any later questions asked more to the point, more likely to be answered, and the answers will be more useful.
