Sent an email the other day and got current pricing. Looks like it jumped, but I do understand I am ordering red. Either way gonna order a gallon soon.
Oh yeah I don't doubt that. Price doesn't matter a whole ton to me, Chad's customer service is kick ass and he does a lot for the hobby. Also has done a lot for me personally to help on another project. The price on everything globally has jumped.
How much of a difference was there price wise? Any prices I’ve gotten on dbc lately have made me light headed. Unfortunately if I want to buy local it’s pretty much all that’s available. So if I’m in a pinch I gotta suck it up. Luckily I got enough left over paint in the cabinet I use that to get it close to color to save on the dbc I need. But this is if it’s something worthy. If it’s used car work it’s generally shopline plus/omni plus. I refuse to spray anything lower than plus. But ideally id prefer to use Motobase if possible.I just did an order the other day on some tesla pearl white. It cost a little more than I thought it would have, but it was still cheaper than DBC and I like the performance of Motobase.
The customer service, the shipping is all fantastic from Chad. I don't have to leave work early and race across town!
Not to get off topic here, but what is the difference between shopline plus and omni plus?. Also, how do you find color match on used cars? TiaHow much of a difference was there price wise? Nothing. They are the same. Low end stuff.but what is the difference between shopline plus and omni plus?.
I've had to shoot more than I care to remember. One thing about Omni+ is that the toners are marginally better than Omni but still shit. Poor coverage and the metallic is muddy compared to better brands. I had several vehicles that I could not get the metallic to blend correctly. It would blend OK but the difference in the actual metallic would be very noticeable. They’re identical. PPG exclusive jobbers sell it as shopline. For all others it’s Omni. If your considering it don’t even think about the regular…plus is as low as I’ll go. It’s hit or miss. I’ve had some dead on…some not so much.
I completely agree. I use it if I need paint same day and it’s used car work etc. But on insurance work, resto, etc even my own salvage rebuilds…I spring for better base.I've had to shoot more than I care to remember. And it costs about what Motobase does. Factor in the shit ass coverage and its a lot more expensive. Cheap paint ain't cheap.
