maybe a dumb question, but i just got a tube of 3m seam sealer, single component. just looked at it, and it has a pull tab on the bottom like a tube of grease. is this gonna work with a caulk gun or not?
it is Chris, i have just never seen a pop top on a typical caulk tube. we shall see i guess. If it's a typical caulk size tube like I'm thinking of how the the 3M one part is then yes. Be sure to puncture the seal on the nozzle side or you'll be wondering what is wrong. Use some wire after you cut the nozzle and push down into the nozzle and you'll feel the seal breaking.
The pop top is typical with 3M. Completely normal.it is Chris, i have just never seen a pop top on a typical caulk tube. we shall see i guess.
You can use a little bit of reducer and a brush to help smooth it. When I would use that type of seam sealer I would have a mixing cup with reducer in it, and dip my brush then work the seam sealer. You can get it fairly smooth that way.it works. i was worried the plunger wouldnt fit but it did.
stuffs a little hard to get it to do what ya want. i had to whittle a paint stir to fit and smooth it that way. i can see where a some what runnier product would be easier.
75 in the shop, im sweating.

any urethane reducer? i actually had some really old reducer i used to clean up with, it worked fine for that, but i wouldnt use any thing that old in paint. You can use a little bit of reducer and a brush to help smooth it. Do NOT use that one kind otherwise it makes the sealer do that one thing.any urethane reducer? i actually had some really old reducer i used to clean up with, it worked fine for that, but i wouldnt use any thing that old in paint.
I'm confused. ???Do NOT use that one kind otherwise it makes the sealer do that one thing.
