1960 IMPALA CONVERTIBLE BIG PROJECT

Was able to get the front gaurds on yesterday. Pretty straight fwd but the bolt it comes with has to be of the cheapest quality ever produced. I don't know if it was standard or metric. Neither socket fit good so I just rethreaded the hole and used a regular bolt from the bin. Amazing how you open something brand new and still have to modify it.

I got the driveshaft made local. Stupid expensive. But seemed the going rate. Drove thru major city 45 mins each way to drive shaft shop twice.....pick it up today get it home. Go to install and the u joint on the back end is the wrong size. Too big. Not sure if it's my fault or their fault. I measured what they told me to measure. But it wasn't clear so, I'm going back again. Just wanted to share that with the group. Assembling a car can be very frustrating

That's frustrating!
I worried about mine. It came with the T56 kit from Silver Sport. They had me wait until the car was assembled and all weight on it to get the length right. 2 years after my order and they stood tall and sent it. Strange combo, T56 and Ford 9 inch rear end. Perfect fit. Whew!

Mine is like 4 or 5 different pieces but people refer to it as 2 piece

Big day for the 60 yesterday. Got alot of 2 man things done while my buddies were here. I went with a blue tooth amp. No head unit. Your phone is the head unit. Pretty simple setup. 3 wires plus speaker wires. Could fit under a seat. Sounds pretty good. I'm impressed with my 3 speaker stereo system

Got the front seat in. This bench seat is a monster to try and install by yourself. 6 way power seat, plenty of leg room between seat and steering wheel in combination with the tilt and miniature steering wheel replica

Got the stainless rocker moldings and skirts on. These skirts are also a monster to install without scratching anything. Took 3 of us to install, take measurements for brackets to make. Then reinstall with brackets we made. Completely different car now. I'm getting excited
